The word “intensive” is to be taken literally, the two weeks of Tai Chi were extremely intensive, transformative and very enlightening. If you are at home in the Tai Chi & Qi Gong scene and want to go into depth, there is nothing better than training with Sifu Adam Mizner. His clarity and ability to explain a system is incomparable. In recent years, Sifu Adam Mizner's teaching style has evolved, becoming more and more about the essence.

One of the aims of Tai Chi is to develop the state of Zhong Ding, translated as "central equilibrium". All the words don't really seem to fit. Zhong Ding is not a state that we know or that we had as a baby and have evolved away from. According to Sifu Adam, it is impossible to know what Zhong Ding is if you have not developed and experienced it. Tai Chi training helps you to get there and the exercises, whether solo or with a partner, give you great feedback on where you stand. Fooling yourself and others is relatively easy on an intellectual level: you can have the most peaceful and beautiful concepts, but the moment external pressure is put on you, the reaction inevitably shows. The inner state becomes obvious. External pressure in this case can be an exercise that pushes you to your limits, or the interaction or pressure of a training partner. According to Sifu Adam, there are an infinite number of wrong reactions to external pressure and only one correct reaction, Zhong Ding. However, since we have not yet developed and experienced Zhong Ding, it is an inevitable process of failure, which is precisely what keeps us on the right path. At least if we have the right attitude.

This path requires a systematic approach that includes various exercises, qualities and stages of development that build on each other and lead to Zhong Ding. This is precisely where the genius of Sifu Adam Mizner lies. He has the ability to present and transmit a very clear system. All the necessary aspects are trained, in the right order and in the right ratio, which can also be weighted differently depending on the person, depending on where their strengths and weaknesses lie. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G8u-98lc-dI Now the question arises, what makes a Tai Chi system a good system? It is clearly the results that come out of it. And if you look at Sifu Adam's senior students, you can see impressive developments and abilities in all of them. There's no doubt about it once you've seen them live.

And Sifu Adam's abilities speak for themselves anyway, he is literally in a different sphere to anyone else I have ever experienced and could compare with. It's not just his clarity, his immense abundance of Qi that he radiates. He is also a real “beast”, even though these two weeks of training were hardly about martial arts, everyone in the room was well aware of how enormous his power is.

Personally, I have been pushed to my limits in the two weeks of training, my body has opened up more, there is more space and fullness. My mind has become clearer and stronger. My nervous system is calmer and much more resistant to stress.

Now, after a week at home in my everyday life, I can also confirm that a change has taken place. Less stress in everyday life, more presence, the training is more clear, focused and intense. I hope that I can continue to integrate these qualities in my own practice and in training with fellow practitioners.
